# 6 - Healthy food can taste good?

Posted by Tami Hagglund in

I figured that since yesterday's entry was about bad eating habits, today's could be focused on some good ones :)

I'm a bit cursed in that I hate most fruit. Well, hate is a strong word... that said, I have to absolutely FORCE myself to eat it. Now and then I'll do strawberries in cereal, and I try to eat either an apple or a banana each day, plus there's the sporadic ingesting of cantaloupe or fresh pineapple, but that's just about it. Well, and tomatoes and avocados, since they're both technically fruits. Other than those things, fruit just sounds gross 99% of the time, which can be a problem when you're working on eating healthy.

I am quite blessed, however, in that I love vegetables. One of my absolute favorite foods is zucchini. And I like peppers and onions and spinach and broccoli and carrots and cauliflower and sugar snap peas... this list could go on for a really long time. Plus, I like them in various forms- raw, baked, grilled, fried (in carefully measured good-for-you monounsaturated oils, of course), steamed... mmmmm.

We had one of the best dinners the other night- salmon with a few tasty spices (cumin, coriander, salt & fresh ground pepper) grilled on our lovely Calphalon stovetop grill pan (buy one! It will change your life! Especially if you don't have a gas grill or you apartment complex is run by lame-o's who won't let you use charcoal!) and then some simply cut zucchini grilled with just a pinch of salt. SO GOOD! And so healthy and filling and good for you.

Ok, tragically, my lunch break is over, but I promise to share more yummy things that we've been eating. Before I go, though, I have to say that I'm still working out like a maniac and it feels good :)
